Tweens & Teens

-Nintendo Switch  for in-library usage, all you have to do is sign in at the front desk. We currently have it set up for 2 players at a time with a 30 minute time window to play. Once those 30 minutes are up, if no one else is waiting for their turn, they’re more than welcome to play again.

-We have a craft section as well! 

-If you would like to volunteer, stop in to the library to fill out a volunteer application! 

Volunteer Guidelines

Volunteer provide the Library with positive community exposure and unparalleled public relations benefits, so certain expectations are expected of our valued volunteers.

• • Keep accurate records of hours worked

  • Be reliable, dependable and prompt

  • Accept direction and ask questions if unsure of proper procedure

  • Dress according to the personal appearance policy of the Town of Newell

  • Do not discuss personal information with library staff or patrons.

  • Turn down cell phones while working, personal phone calls should be made before or after work

  • Library supplies are for use in the Library by staff and volunteers, leave all materials in the Library at the end of each workday

  • Maintain the confidentially of any information which you may be exposed to, whether this information involves staff, patrons, volunteers or the overall business of the Library or Town

  • Assist at Circulation Desk with checking in/out materials

  • Shelve returned materials

  • Assist patrons using computers and other technology

  • Assist with children and teen programs

  • Assist with weeding materials

  • Landscape maintenance

  • Seasonal opportunities available
