Books and Reading

Information to help you find a book to read.

Getting the right one

Spend some time browsing the links on the left to find suggestions for a good book to read.  We enjoy reading just as much as you do and we'd love to talk to you about books. Stop into the library to see our

displays of featured books, or talk to a librarian about what you're reading, or to get ideas on what to read next.

  • Checking out books on WILBOR using hand-held devices is now available. Ask us about it.
  • Use the form below to suggest a book for purchase.
  • Call or e-mail the library to place a hold on a book.
  • Tell us what you thought of a book by submitting a Book Talk form.
  • New books are being added to our selection monthly.
  • If we don't have a book you would like to read at this time, we can Inter-Library Loan it for you.  Usually it will take 3 or 4 days for the book to arrive.  Check with the staff at the library and we will help you out with this.
  • OPEN ACCESS is also another good way for you to pick up a book in another town. Take your library card with you to the library in another town and there they will check out a book (under OPEN ACCESS) of your choice for you, using your Newell Libraries card.   When you finsh reading the book, bring it to the Newell Public Library and we will return the it for you.
  • If you have questions come in and visit with us or just give us a call.
  • REMEMBER:  We will renew your books or other items by phone if you are not able to come in.
The love of learning, the sequestered nooks,
And all the sweet serenity of books.
